Intel to build in Israel as chipmakers move beyond East Asia

It comes as company says it continues to expand its Leixlip premises in Co Kildare, spending an additional €12 billion

Intel has agreed in principle to build a new manufacturing plant in Israel, part of a push by the US semiconductor giant and its chip peers to diversify their production sources, as the company cites continued expansion at its Leixlip premises.
