Hostelworld’s strong profit growth provides a sunny outlook for investors

The Dublin-based online travel agent is recovering strongly from the worst impacts of the pandemic and has already achieved many of its 2025 targets

Despite concerns in some quarters over the sluggishness of the eurozone economy, Gary Morrison, chief executive of Hostelworld, is confident consumer spending power will hold up this year.

“When we did the capital markets [day] in 2021, we were concerned that there would be a recession in 2022 and this would dampen demand. In reality, what we saw is that consumers went to low-price destinations,” Morrison told the Business Post last week.
