Helen McEntee rules herself out of Fine Gael leadership race

Helen McEntee has ruled herself out of the Fine Gael leadership race, further clearing the way for frontrunner Simon Harris.

McEntee, who has long been speculated alongside Harris as a potential leader of Fine Gael, told LMFM this morning that she would not be putting her name forward as this was not the “right time”, but would also not be declaring her support for any other candidate.
