Hawk-Eye firm behind VAR technology reports £62 million turnover in new accounts
The use of the technology was at the centre of a controversy related to Liverpool’s defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League
Hawk-Eye Innovations, the company that provides goal-line technology for English football’s VAR and the GAA, had a rise in turnover from £59.8 million to £62 million last year.
The England-based Sony Sports firm, which measures its trading year from the end of March, also had a rise in expenses, meaning its pre-tax profit slipped from £19.4 million to £16.9 million. Its accumulated profits rose, therefore, from £47.2 million to £52.3 million.
