Half of Irish companies using generative AI despite lack of workplace policies
Adoption of AI in business ‘critical’ for Ireland’s position as a global tech hub, according to a new study
Almost half of organisations in the public and private sectors in Ireland use generative AI, despite just 2 per cent having a company-wide policy on artificial intelligence.
New figures from Microsoft Ireland show that 49 per cent of Irish workplaces report the use of generative AI – technology that can create content including text, imagery and audio using natural language prompts – with 47 per cent believing that such technology will enhance productivity.
Produced by Trinity College Dublin business school on behalf of Microsoft, just under half of the 400 senior managers surveyed for the Generative AI in Ireland 2024 report agreed that generative AI is perceived to be very useful in their industry.
