Residential Tenancies Board set to crackdown on landlords in breach of rent caps

The Residential Tenancies Board (RTB) plans to enforce stricter compliance with rent cap rules on landlords by the end of this year.

Rent increase caps, imposed under the Rent Pressure Zone (RPZ) rules, mean rents in cities or an area designated as an RPZ cannot be increased by more than 2 per cent per annum, or in line with inflation if it is lower.
