Gamblers are facing limits on how much money they can lose through betting as part of sweeping new regulations for bookmakers and online casinos.

As part of a number of reforms being considered to alleviate the level of problem gambling in Ireland, betting companies will have to warn punters when they lose a number of bets, with online messages alerting them to their losses and providing information about treatment services.
