Galway-based Chanelle Pharma sold to British private equity firm Exponent

The Loughrea-headquartered company employs over 700 staff and produces generic pharmaceuticals for animal and human health

Chanelle Pharma, the Galway-based manufacturer of generic medicines, has been sold to Exponent Private Equity, the British fund, for an undisclosed sum.

The pharma company, which was founded almost 40 years ago by Michael Burke, employs more than 700 staff at facilities in Ireland, Britain, Europe and Jordan. Headquartered in Loughrea, Co Galway, Chanelle Pharma is Ireland’s largest indigenous manufacturer of generic pharmaceuticals for animal and human health.
