Former rugby player raises €600k for racehorse scheme

Johne Murphy, a former Leicester and Munster rugby player, has raised €600,000 for Stride, the company he set up to enable people to make fractional investments in race horses.

Murphy, who won a European Champions Cup and Celtic League during his rugby career, aims to raise a further €1.2 million early next year to help the business, which currently has five staff, enter the US market.
