Fintechs warn Central Bank over ‘prohibitive’ cost of operating in Ireland

Major fintechs have told the Central Bank they’re concerned about the cost of operating in Ireland’s trading environment, and warned the regulator that its parts of its new “sandbox” should be relaxed.

In a submission sent last month, a lobby group representing Amazon, Revolut, Stripe and others said fintechs were concerned that the cost of a new regulatory hub hosted by the bank could be “prohibitive”.
