Exclusive: Number of jobs put at risk in February neared three-year high

New figures show major employers – particularly tech firms – are still in layoff mode after 18 months of turbulence in labour market

Companies notified the government of nearly 1,800 planned job cuts in February, the third-highest number recorded in a single month over the past three years.

New data obtained by the Business Post reveals that 1,794 roles were placed at risk by companies in Ireland last month – the most since last March, and the third highest amount since January 2021.The figures show that major tech firms are still in retrenchment mode.
