Eviction ban to be lifted at the end of March as government ignores calls for extension

The government will lift the ban on evictions at the end of the month as it had previously planned to, despite repeated calls for it to be extended.

The moratorium, which was introduced last October, will come to an end on March 31. This will be done on a phased basis, meaning some renters who would otherwise be evicted will be able to stay in their homes until June.
