Eurozone inflation down slightly in comforting sign for ECB

Inflation in the Eurozone fell from 5.5 per cent in June to 5.3 per cent in July in a largely comforting sign for the European Central Bank.

Data from Eurostat indicates that inflation for food, alcohol and tobacco for July was 10.8 per cent year on year compared to 11.6 per cent in June, with services at 5.6 per cent which is down from 5.4 per cent and energy prices dropping by 6.1 per cent ...
