EU to extend duty-free access for Ukrainian food exports until June 2025

A compromise agreed on Wednesday provides more safeguards for European farmers while also allowing tariff free imports of Ukrainian food shipments

A deal to grant Ukraine another year’s duty-free access to the EU market for key foodstuffs, excluding wheat, has finally been agreed in Brussels following a last-minute wobble.

Poland, France and Italy had tried to unpick a provisional deal done last week to secure stronger safeguards for farmers, particularly on grain imports.
