Paddy Hayes, chief executive of ESB, said new RTÉ board chairman Terence O’Rourke would bring “huge energy” to the role and would be a “real asset” to the beleaguered broadcaster.

O’Rourke, who currently served as the chairman of the ESB and is a former KPMG managing partner, was named as the new leader of the national broadcaster’s board.
