Energy rationing within the EU could be required in the autumn and winter months to combat the threats to energy security posed by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, EU Commissioner Mairead McGuinness said.

“It’s something we try to avoid,” the former Fine Gael MEP said. “But [energy rationing] could be a reality.”
