Enda Kenny-linked Suas Aerospace seeking €5m to develop Irish spaceport

Firm said the planned spaceport could host 48 launches per year, which could provide revenues of up to €70 million annually

Suas Aerospace, the Irish aerospace firm chaired by former taoiseach Enda Kenny, has announced a fund-raising round of €5 million today to develop an Irish spaceport, which would allow for rocket launches carrying satellites into orbit.

If the funding is received, the company, which based in the National Space Centre in Cork, aims to have the “world-class” infrastructure in place by 2027 facilitating up to 48 launches a year.
