Egg on coalition’s face as family and care referendums go down

Once former Labour TD and minister Kevin Humphreys sent his tweet shortly before 9.30am it was clear the government had lost the referendums.

Humphreys, probably the country’s best tallyman, knows when the game is up.

An early tally from St Raphael’s primary school in Ballyfermot showed voters had overwhelmingly rejected both proposals to change the wording of the constitution around family and care.
