Dermot Desmond has succeeded in having evidence from a Nobel laureate economist excluded from his long-running defamation case against the Irish Times.

The businessman, who is suing the newspaper over an article on the so-called Panama Papers, had argued that Joseph Stiglitz’s evidence was inadmissible because it was irrelevant and “blatantly partial”.
