Darragh O’Brien asks McVerry Trust to confirm PwC will manage running of troubled housing body

O’Brien wrote to the board following the resignation of Francis Doherty, the charity’s chief executive, on Wednesday

The charity confirmed on Wednesday that Francis Doherty had tendered his resignation to the board.

Darragh O’Brien, the Minister for Housing, has asked the board of Peter McVerry Trust to confirm that PwC will be able to manage the day-to-day operations of the embattled housing and homeless charity following the resignation of its chief executive earlier this week.

It comes amid a series of high-level probes into governance and financial matters at the organisation.
