Childcare: Lobby groups welcome 25 per cent cut in fees

Good news for parents of young children but reduction in charges will not come into effect until September 2024

Roderic O’Gorman, the Minister for Children, has succeeded in his battle cut childcare fees by an average of 25 per cent, fulfilling the government’s commitment to half fees by 50 per cent within two years.

However, the reductions will not come into effect until September 2024.
