Bus Éireann pays €9,600 rent for resting drivers

Cash-strapped Bus Éireann is renting an apartment for its rest drivers at a cost of around €10,000 per year.

The company provides facilities around the country for a pool of up to 250 rest drivers to be on standby in case a regular driver is ill, on holidays or in training.
