Kingfisher, which owns the B&Q, Screwfix, and Castorama DIY chains, has reported adjusted pre-tax profit of £568 million for 2023, a 25 per cent fall on the prior year.

The company also warned that it was “cautious on overall market outlook” given lag between “housing demand and home improvement demand”.

Sales at the company were £12.9 billion last year, down 0.6 per cent on 2022, according to annual results.
