An Post: Parcels from Britain fall 68 per cent, costing company €15m in revenue

Company expects to reduce its staff by around 1,000 over the next five years, despite 7 per cent overall growth in takings

Parcels from Britain through postal channels dropped 68 per cent last year, according to An Post.

This resulted in a €15 million fall in revenue for An Post, the postal company said.

The drop was due to the new EU Custom’s regime, which An Post said has been implemented “more onerously” in Ireland than in anywhere in the EU.
