Ads watchdog pulls up FreeNow over €1,300 per week earnings claim

Authority agreed that the ad was misleading after discovering 93 per cent of drivers earn less than the advertised earning potential

Taxi drivers have flocked to the advertising authority in their droves to complain about FreeNow, citing an advert run by the firm that claimed drivers using the platform can earn up to €1,300 a week.

According to the latest complaints bulletin compiled by the Advertising Standards Authority for Ireland (ASAI), 33 people – the majority of whom were taxi drivers - complained that the earning potential referenced in the advertisement was misleading.
