Monaghan firm’s trademark battle Diesel has Montex in legal crosshairs

Clothing label has been given permission by the High Court to cite new evidence

Diesel: the Italian jeans brand sells worldwide

Italian fashion empire Diesel has tooled up for the latest round in an epic battle to have its trademark registered in Ireland.

Founded by billionaire Renzo Rosso, the international clothing label has been given permission by the High Court to cite new evidence in its 24-year-old row with Monaghan-based jeans company Montex.

Both have been trading under the Diesel label in Ireland for years - but for just how long is in dispute.
