Dublin footballers look to old guard to restore that air of invincibility

With manager Dessie Farrell in a make-or-break season, the Dubs have turned to veteran stars in a bid to accelerate their return to the top of the Gaelic football pecking order

Bernard Brogan, the seven time All-Ireland winner with Dublin, believes Dessie Farrell is under pressure to deliver a Sam Maguire this summer.

Farrell, who led Dublin to their sixth straight All-Ireland in 2020, is under growing scrutiny over the performances of the county that was recently seen as unbeatable.

“There is pressure on the team, there is pressure on Dessie and there are teams out there against Dublin that have a lot more belief than they would have had three or four years ago,” Brogan told the Business Post.
