A €3bn mica muddle

This government has tried to make a virtue out of the fact that it has improved the terms of the mica redress scheme, a grant programme designed to help thousands of homeowners around the country rebuild homes shattered by defective blockwork.

To put a positive spin on it, the Department of Housing has implemented a new version of the scheme, with higher grants available to homeowners and better terms and conditions.
