Taoiseach Simon Harris’s to-do list in Brussels and Warsaw this week was short and to the point: meet “everyone”.

His visit was organised as a statement of intent about Ireland’s ties with Europe.

And it was largely seen that way by the European Parliament’s Roberta Metsola and the European Commission’s Ursula von der Leyen, who are both from the same political family as Fine Gael (the European People’s Party, or EPP).
