'Sight loss means a loss of independence'

Thursday next, October 11 is World Sight Day, an annual awareness drive for those living with varying levels of sight loss.

On a global level, an estimated one billion individuals live with some degree of visual impairment. Their lives are impacted in myriad ways, from the emotional and social to the practical concerns that accompany what is an increasingly common condition.
