Gráinne Lyons’ great-grandfather, John K Cotter has a notable role in Irish history. A fisherman and sailor from Cape Clear Island, he used his skills to steer Molly and Erskine Childers’ boat into Howth in 1913. The Asgard was carrying guns that were later used in the Easter Rising.
