Varadkar eyeing up road charge on foreign trucks

Minister for Transport Leo Varadkar is considering a new road charge on foreign trucks in response to the forthcoming cross-border tolls on Irish lorries.

On April 1, the British government is introducing a charge of £1,000 (€1,201) for large trucks crossing the border into the North, in an attempt to benefit domestic hauliers.
