Invention should be recognised, and Alltech has certainly delivered something different with its Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. The beer itself, however, seems to be two different drinks fighting for supremacy.

The fundamental ale is bitter and one can certainly get hints of it from tasting. The problem is that the bitterness is overpowered by the sweet bourbon flavour.
