Government must push EU for a deal

The EU has applied another sticking plaster to its problems. This time it may be a bit bigger than previous attempts to patch up the patient, but a sticking plaster it remains. What was agreed at the summit last Wednesday did represent a step along the way to recognising the reality of what the EU faces, but the solution remains inadequate.
