Over 230 wine writers and critics assembled in Bordeaux last month for the world-renowned international wine and spirit tasting competition, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.

More than 6,000 wines from 48 countries were judged at the competition, which began in Belgium in 1994 and has grown to become an international reference on wine and spirits. Thirty per cent of the entries received medals, which marked them out as the world’s best.
