IKEA has just announced that from 29 February to 3 March during Paris Fashion Week they will take over 28 Rue de Lappe close to Paris’s Bastille to showcase a new collection of portraits by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz taken during her tenure as IKEA Artist in Residence.

The exhibition is inspired say the company, by their own Life at Home Report findings which found that 48 per cent of people globally do not feel that their life at home is represented in the media.

Taken by Leibovitz during her tenure as IKEA’s first Artist in Residence, the collection features twenty-five portraits from homes in Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Also featured will be portraits taken by six up-and-coming photographers who have been part of a mentorship programme led by IKEA and Leibovitz. Visitors to the venue will also be able to experience the work of French and international stylists and designers including students from alternative French fashion school Casa93.

There will also be a daily programme of events, says IKEA, as well as food and drinks from the Swedish company that have been given a Parisian twist and a new collection of products from a new collaborator will be revealed.

All events are free, with the full line-up and tickets released on 14 February.
