The HSE’s recently departed chief information officer has said the government’s failure to fund an ambitious €824 million electronic health record project for patients was “frustrating”.

Richard Corbridge, who was on the HSE’s leadership team, said his decision to leave the HSE after less than three years was not caused by a sense of disillusionment, but that the funding limbo made him confident he had made the “right decision”.
