Car maker's deal with workers crucial as it tries to cope with emissions fall-out

German car maker Volkswagen has reached a landmark agreement with workers to cut as many as 30,000 jobs, mostly in Germany, saving €3.7 billion.

The deal is the company’s latest attempt to deal with the fall-out from an emissions-cheating scandal which has cost it billions of euro and damaged its brand.
