Medical device aims to curb chemo hair loss ‘Hard lesson’ learned from previous venture

At just 20 years of age, Mayo native Aaron Hannon is already in the throes of launching his second medical device venture.

In partnership with NUI Galway clinical research engineer Bárbara Oliveira, Hannon is developing a wearable device that will use electrical stimulation to treat chemotherapy-induced hair loss.

Hannon’s venture, Lily Devices, was named overall winner of the Ireland Funds Business Plan Competition last month, netting him a €15,000 prize.
