The chief executive of the Institute of Directors (IoD) in Ireland has said Irish companies need more transparent and planned processes for recruiting board members, in order to reduce the perception that boards are a ‘boys’ club’.

Maura Quinn was speaking as a report by the organisation found that strong support fordiversity in the boardroom is being undermined by a lack of succession planning.
