Knitwear start-up finds that a stitch in time saves nine

Fashion knitwear start-up Ekotree expects sales to treble this year, on the back of its first exports to markets as far afield as Japan.

Ekotree is showcasing its fashion knitwear at the four-day Showcase Creative Ireland trade event starting today in Dublin’s RDS.

The expo will have 450 exhibitors. Diarmuid Neilan sees Ekotree’s involvement as a milestone for the start-up.

Established in 2011, the idea for Ekotree came to Neilan when he was sourcing manufacturers to produce his knitwear designs in Ireland.
