KBC not ruling out loan portfolio sales

The chief executive of KBC Bank Ireland has refused to rule out the sale of non-performing mortgage loans to third parties.

Wim Verbraeken was the latest bank chief to appear before the Oireachtas finance committee on Tuesday afternoon.

He said the bank had not engaged in any such transaction so far, though last year it did sell off residual debt linked to properties that had already been sold.
