Waterford couple David and Sandra Whelan have ambitious plans to place Ireland at the frontline of virtual reality (VR), having raised investment of close to €1 million to develop a new immersive education platform.

Their start-up, Immersive VR Education, secured the funding last month from sources including Kernel Capital, Shard Capital Partners in London and state agency Enterprise Ireland.
