Swedish retail giant Ikea is to open a new ‘plan and order’ point in Carlow this month.

The company said further outlets would follow later this year along with the opening of a new 42,500 sq m distribution centre in Rathcoole, Dublin in spring.

The hub, which will employ about 120 people, will reduce delivery times from about seven to ten days, to two to three days.
