EU extends review of IAG/Aer Lingus deal

The European Commission has extended its preliminary deadline to review IAG's proposed takeover of Aer Lingus to July 15.

In a website filing, the Commission said IAG had offered remedies to allay competition concerns but it did not provide further details.

The EU has competition concerns over aspects of IAG's €1.4 billion bid for Aer Lingus, particularly in relation to Heathrow landing rights and transatlantic routes.
