Shein, the Chinese Fast-fashion firm, has been drawn under the scope of flagship European Union rules designed to clamp down on illegal and harmful content online.

The company, founded in China but is now headquartered in Singapore, has an average of more than 45 million monthly users in the EU, so meets the threshold to be targeted by the EU’s Digital Services Act, the European Commission said on Friday.
