Beckman Coulter, the US manufacturer of biomedical diagnostic equipment, established an Irish base in Galway more than 40 years ago, followed by a second plant on an 85-hectare site in Tulla, Co Clare. Orlaith Lawler is a senior director at the company, which employs close to 400 people in Ireland.
