€5m in perks ups 2014 earnings of Smurfit boss to €7m

Gary McCann, the boss of paper and packaging group Smurfit Kappa, received total pay of €7.2 million last year.

The company’s annual report shows that McGann was paid a salary of €1.2 million, unchanged on the previous year, and a cash bonus of €525,000.

He received pension and other benefits amounting to €484,000.

The remainder of his pay package were awards made to the chief executive under the company’s long-term incentive plan, which were worth just under €5 million.
