Spain’s Bankinter to enter Irish market

The bank would be the first new entrant since 2005 after a series of exits following the financial crash

Spain’s Bankinter is to enter the Irish banking market after its success in mortgages through Avant Money.

The company said it will seek a full banking license to service Irish customers and plans to expand its product and services, starting with deposit products.
