Dublin set to get its first alt-weekly paper

The long-form, narrative style pioneered by the the Village Voice is coming to the capital in the form of a new online newspaper

For a city with Dublin’s rich literary history, it’s odd that it’s never had an alternative weekly newspaper – the format most noted for its long-form narrative style.

But that will change next month, when English journalist Lois Kapila launches Ireland’s first ever alt-weekly, the Dublin Inquirer.

The focus of the Inquirer, according to Kapila, will be on high-quality, long-form, local Dublin news.
